It all started a long time ago back in Sao Paulo, Brazil where we came from, the idea of running a 'boteco' of my own. Life was not easy and we decided to pack our bags and migrate to the land of opportunities where I started in the restaurant business and work my way through the ranks of this demanding industry. Twelve years later I have no regrets to the long days and grueling hours I dedicated to this career because I had a vision and a goal in life, have a 'boteco' in this case a Restaurant of my own. I was able to accomplish this in 212 with the support of my wife and son, I call it the family affair where each one of us has an important role and contribution to this "Dream come True". The name Sabor Unido came about dining with a group of friends and the idea of combining two cultures, Portuguese and Brazilian and its diversified ways and traditions of cooking. The location for Sabor Unido was carefully chosen, in the heart of the Ironbound, where mostly Portuguese and Brazilians are on the lookout for good healthy food without sacrificing the traditional tastes and flavors of our prestigious cuisines, that is what Sabor Unido strives for along with desire to offer our valued patrons a little of our own tasteful recipes and ambiance so far away from our origins.
